PLEASE NOTE: The ADVOCATES FOR FAMILIES FIRST project ended in spring 2017 and we are not updating this site. This website will be available until early 2018. Many of the resources have been moved to www.nacac.org.
What We Do
The mission of Advocates for Families First is to build a unified national movement in support of kinship, foster, and adoptive families who care for children and youth, promote their healing, and help them thrive. We envision a world where children and youth who need out of home care have a family – kinship, foster, or adoptive – who can most effectively help them thrive, meet their needs and assist them in becoming successful adults.
How You Can Help
Please assist Advocates for Families First in our efforts to serve the organizations who support and advocate for kinship, foster, and adoptive families and their children. Your dollars will help ensure our work can continue as we: 1) advocate for policies that ensure children will be in supported families; 2) provide training and assistance to enhance the ability of organizations to support and advocate for families; 3) seek to improve the public perception of kinship, foster, and adoptive families.
How We Serve
Advocates for Families First provides information, direct technical assistance, one on one and group education to developing or existing foster, adoptive or kinship family support and advocacy organizations.
Who We Serve
The collaborative serves support and advocacy organizations for foster, adoptive, and kinship families and their children across the United States.
Who We Are
Advocates for Families First is a collaboration of the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC), the National Foster Parent Association (NFPA), and Generations United. We are grateful to our funders: the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, and Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative.
