Who We Are

Advocates for Families First is a partnership of the North American Council on Adoptable Children, the National Foster Parents Association, and Generations United.

This partnership is made possible by generous support from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, The Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative, and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.


The North American Council on Adoptable Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adoptive parents, promoting adoption awareness, informing adoption professionals, and helping children find permanent, loving families. Serving parents and professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada, NACAC publishes materials, conducts, training, advocates for system change and provides support related to adoption support and preservation, parent group development, adoption subsidies and tax credits, child welfare system reform.

Promoting and supporting permanent families for children and youth in the U.S. and Canada who have been in care—especially those in foster care and those with special needs. www.nacac.org


The National Foster Parent Association is a champion for the thousands of families that open their heart and their home to the over 400,000 children in out-of-home placement in the US. NFPA believes in the importance of family-based care for foster children and that every child deserves a permanent family.
