House companion to the Family Stability and Kinship Care Act (S.1964/H.R.3781

from Voice for Adoption:
This week Ranking Member of the Ways & Means Human Resources Subcommittee, Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), introduced the House companion to the Family Stability and Kinship Care Act (S.1964/H.R.3781 <https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/3781/related-bills?q={%22search%22%3A[%223781+Family+Stability+and+Kinship+Care+Act+2015%22]}&resultIndex=1 <https://www.congress.gov/bill/114th-congress/house-bill/3781/related-bills?q=%7B%22search%22%3A[%223781+Family+Stability+and+Kinship+Care+Act+2015%22]%7D&resultIndex=1> > ).  The congressman was joined by 42 original Democrat cosponsors. Senator Wyden introduced this bill with colleagues in the Senate back in August 2015.

The bill would make significant and historic investments into prevention of foster care services for families under the Title IV-E program; it would also make critical investments into post-permanency services under the Title IV-B program.

It is anticipated that there will be a bipartisan negotiated child welfare bill coming out of the Senate Finance Committee in the coming weeks. I am keeping a close watch on what this legislation will look like and as soon as it is received, I will be sure to forward it to our membership.
